Yvonne Rainer's Trio A is "rewritten" through improvised imitation of the footage found in Youtube of 16-millimeter film of Rainer dancing Trio A, produced in 1978 by Sally Banes.
I record myself imitating the movements and then project my imitation (n1) and imitate my imitation, until reaching the 10th imitation (thus 10x). This decimation, shows disarticulation in the process of incorporation -not so much intended as repeating, learning or archiving dance movements through embodiment- but rather capturing the intersubjective echo of the former self being consumed by the new reader-copier. Each further imitation-number in the process derives the original into a "rewriting" that gradually takes distance and this distance gives space for the presence of the reader-copier-rewriter to fill in. Erring is embraced as the act of wandering (errare in Italian means both). Total duration 00:06:10

It is interesting to refer to, as a different example of working with the same footage (the 1978 video by Sally Banes), Lindsay Lawson A. Trio (2010) where the artist hires a dancer to dance as a trio with Yvonne's projection, themselves and their own shadow. In this case precision and synchronicity, as well as the act of learning through repetition, are at the foundation of the work, providing for a re-iteration that partly resonates the dance of the original video.
